Historical Community Celebration in Burlington
The Berry Dairy Days 5K and 10K Race is held in conjunction with one of the oldest festivals in Skagit County. Originally established in 1937 as a fundraiser for local volunteer firefighters, the event has transitioned over 88 years into a celebration of the history, agriculture, and farming traditions of Burlington. The race is co-hosted by the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and the City of Burlington.
Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 5K Race
- 10K Race
The event features several amenities and recognition for participants. Every pre-registered runner receives a finisher's medal, while the top three male and female finishers in each race are presented with special awards. Upon completion of the distance, finishers receive a ticket for a traditional festival treat consisting of strawberries and shortcake.
The race starts and finishes at Skagit River Park. Packet pick-up is available the day before the event at a local running company in Mount Vernon or on the morning of the race at the park. This event is also part of the "Conquer the Valley" series, which includes other local races such as the Skagit Valley Tulip Run and the Skagit Flats Marathon. Specific discounts are available for students aged 18 or younger, participants aged 70 or older, and military or first responders. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
