Event overview
Last Chance Marathon and Half Marathon takes place on December 31, 2025 in Bellingham, Washington. The race starts at Fairhaven Park Pavilion (107 Chuckanut Dr N). Registration closes December 30, 2025. The published entry fee is $60 and a race shirt is offered for an additional fee.
Course and logistics
The course uses the Interurban Trail out to Clayton Beach. The half marathon is an out-and-back of 13.1 miles; the full marathon is the same out-and-back run twice for 26.2 miles. The route follows an old railroad bed with a mostly gravel surface and a tree canopy in many sections. Arroyos Park is a short double-track section with bridges and some hills. Total elevation for the course is approximately 300 feet. Bathrooms at Fairhaven Park will be unlocked and the pavilion is heated.
Aid stations are located on course (first one at about 3.5 miles off Chuckanut Crest Drive), at the turnaround, and at the start/finish. Aid stations provide water, an electrolyte drink and snacks; the half offers about three refill opportunities and the marathon about seven. Parking near the pavilion is limited; event staff request parking only in marked spots and note street parking near Fairhaven Middle School.
