Belmont Water Dog Run
The Belmont Water Dog Run is the ninth annual community-supported, student-powered road race held in Belmont, California on September 26, 2026. The event offers multiple ways to participate and includes in-person and virtual options.
Distances and event types:
- 5K road race
- 10K road race
- 1 Mile - Kid's Fun Run
- 1 Mile - Fido Mile (one owner and one dog)
- Virtual Run or Walk
Registration details note a group discount when four or more runners register together. Participants in the 5K, 10K, Kid's Mile, and the Virtual Run or Walk receive a race shirt and medal; registrants may decline the shirt or medal for a partial discount. Dogs are allowed only in the Fido Mile; dogs are not permitted in the 5K, 10K, or Kids' Mile. Dogs in the Fido Mile receive a bandana. Additional family members who walk with a dog must register separately. Parent escorts for the Kids' Mile must register and do not receive shirts or medals.
Packet pickup is available the day before at a local training facility and on race day at the race expo near 1 Twin Pines Lane, Belmont. The event includes published course maps, a list of temporary road closures and assisted-access points, and a cancellation policy that issues a future-event credit less a processing fee when requested at least ten days before the event date.
