The Animal Run 5k Tofurkey Trot takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at San Leandro Marina Park, with parking directions to the Mallard Picnic Area (13791-14011 Monarch Bay Dr, San Leandro). Distances offered include:

- 1 Mile
The 5K course is described as flat with options to run on mostly dirt and grass and some road. The event includes a canicross division, in which runners compete while attached to one or two dogs via a waist belt and a dog harness joined by an elastic line to reduce shock. Race shirts featuring a tofurkey design are available this year; early registration is required to guarantee a shirt.
Registration and beneficiary
Online registration is open and the price will increase on 11/01/25. Published registration pricing before that date lists: adults $35 for 5K solo and virtual runners, $45 for 5K canicross and virtual teams, and $35 for 1 Mile walkers and dog walkers; kids pricing lists $25 for ages 12 and under and $35 for kids canicross teams. A small processing fee applies. Additional safety instructions will be provided for canicross participants aged 12 and under. All proceeds from the event will benefit Herd & Flock Animal Sanctuary, a Vacaville-based organization that provides rescued farmed animals a lifelong sanctuary.
