About the race
The Bellport Bay 5K Run/Walk is an annual summer 5K event held in the village of Bellport. The event includes a main 5K run/walk and a separate Kids Fun Run; the kids event does not require registration and its check-in and start take place at the corner of Hulse Street and Bellport Lane.
The Bellport Village Program Fund organizes the race and directs proceeds, after race-related expenses, to community projects. The beneficiary fund supports maintenance and improvements at village recreational areas and community assets, and the fund reports that administrative costs are covered by its board.
Race amenities listed by the organizer include awards, refreshments, and shirt pickup at the finish area. Race-day bib pickup is available at the start area at the Bellport Bandshell (55 Bellport Lane, Bellport, NY); T-shirt pickup is handled after the race at the same location. The course is described as an accurately measured route through the village of Bellport Bay. Strollers are not allowed on the course.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top three male and female in standard age groups ranging from 12 and under up to 80 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
