About the race
Belfast 24 is planned as a weekend community festival event on 26 and 27 June 2027, pending council approval. The event uses a continuous 1 mile loop around the park and follows the same format as previous years. It is chip timed and offers on-course support and basic facilities.
Distances and formats include:
- 24Hr Individual run on the loop.
- 24Hr Relay for teams of 2 to 4, male, female, or mixed.
- 100 Mile event aiming for a 100 mile completion.
- 100 Km event.
- 50 Km event.
- Marathon and Back to Back Marathon options.
- Half Marathon limited to 100 entries.
- 10 km limited to 100 entries.
Entrants receive a Belfast 24 printed T shirt; finishers receive a Belfast 24 medal. Participants who complete 100 miles within the 24 hour period receive a special Belfast 24 100 mile fleece. There will be trophies for first, second and third male and female in each event and trophies for first relay teams in each category; there are no planned age category prizes. Water will be available but participants must bring their own cups or bottles due to a no trace policy. Portaloo facilities will be provided. For longer events there will be access to hot water and basic food such as pasta or porridge. Parking within Victoria Park will be limited and a Parkrun operates on the event morning.
