About the race
The Seeley Cup is an annual 10 km road race in Ormeau Park, Belfast, held since 1982 in memory of local athlete Joe Seeley. The course follows a relatively flat route along the Ormeau Embankment and loops through Ormeau Park; the embankment is closed for approximately 45 minutes for the race and the park remains open to the public during the event. Entries are capped at 1,000 and a waiting list is managed once capacity is reached.
Entry categories include a green option without a T-shirt and a standard entry, with separate rates for affiliated and non‑affiliated runners. Refunds are not available and entries cannot be deferred; the deadline for name changes is Friday 6th November. Pack collection is offered before race day on Thursday 26th November at the Les Jones Room, Athletics NI Offices, Mary Peters Track, and on race day at the Ozone building in Ormeau Park.
Race-day provisions include a water station at the finish, first aid cover, toilets and changing facilities in the Ozone complex, and portable toilets in the Ozone car park. Pacers and tail runners will be available for a range of target times; a pre-race briefing will be given shortly before the race. Prize awards are given to the first three male and female finishers on the day, team prizes for the top three teams, and age-group prizes for specified veteran categories; some prizes are posted after the event.
