Beer City Half San Jose
Beer City Half San Jose is a multi-event running and beer festival held at Almaden Lake Park in San Jose, California. The course runs around Almaden Lake and continues onto the Alamitos, Calero Creek, and Guadalupe Creek Trails. The event groups several race formats and festival activities at the park and nearby venues.
Event options include:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
- 5k
- Beer Stroll - one mile walk around Almaden Lake
- Beat the Beast Beer Mile - drink four 12 ounce beers while running one mile
- Beer Tasting Only - open to ages 21 to 100
After the races, a post-run festival features brewers from San Jose and elsewhere in California and offers unlimited tasting for participants who have festival access. Registered participants receive a shirt, a finisher's woodalion medal, and a custom tasting glass. A separate Shindig at Hapas Brewing follows with music, food trucks, and games; the Shindig ticket covers the first beer. The Beer Mile invites competitors to race others and a Beer City Beast with the rule that if the beast catches a runner, that runner is out of the race.
