Event overview
Beer City Half™ San Jose takes place on May 30, 2026 at Almaden Lake Park in San Jose, California. The event uses park roads and nearby trails, including Alamitos, Calero Creek and Guadalupe Creek Trails. The festival format combines running and beer-tasting activities at the park and at local breweries.

- Beat the Beast Beer Mile - drink four 12-oz beers while running one mile; if a designated “beast” catches a runner, that runner is out of the race

Festival and participant benefits
Post-run activities include a tasting festival with local and California brewers. Registered runners receive a shirt, a Key to Beer City finisher's medal and a custom tasting glass, and the post-run festival offers unlimited tasting for participants. A later event called the Shindig takes place at Clandestine Brewing with music, food trucks and games; the ticket for that event includes the first beer.
