Prizes, awards and included items
The Beer City Half will award the Golden Growler to the points leaders of the Beer City Half Series. For this race only, a total purse of $5,000 is designated for podium winners of the half marathon. All runners receive a shirt, a Key to Beer City finisher's medal, and a custom tasting glass. Post-race refreshment features local and California brewers.
Festival activities
The event is part of a weekend Beer City Festival. The Beat The Beast Beer Mile requires participants to drink four 12-oz beers while running a mile; a designated “beast” can eliminate runners who are caught. A post-race Shindig with Fieldwork Brewing includes music, food, games, and a ticketed first beer. Sponsors include multiple local breweries and community partners.
