Course descriptions provided by the organizer indicate routes that loop around Annabel Lake and use the Iron Horse Trail and the Bollinger Canyon Bridge. The half marathon and 10K follow a route around Annabel Lake and across the Bollinger Canyon Bridge to a turnaround on the Iron Horse Trail. The 5K follows a route around Annabel Lake and back. The Top Dog Dash is a short 0.5 mile route around Bishop Ranch.

Several run entries include a Beer City race t-shirt, a tasting glass, and The Key to Beer City finishers medal, with unlimited tasting at the finish served in a 7-ounce tasting cup. The Beat The Beast Beer Mile requires drinking four beers and running a quarter mile between each; it includes a special medal and pin and carries specific rules about continuing in the race. The Top Dog Dash is a fundraiser for Love & Second Chances and includes a two-drink Shindig pass. Shindig is an afternoon gathering with music and games; it is free to attend but additional drink packages are available for purchase.
