The event takes place at Radium Runway in Alameda Point (1801 Ferry Point Road, Alameda, CA 94501) on July 11, 2026. It combines road races, walking, a beer mile, an afternoon taproom challenge, and a separate tasting-only option.

Race and participation details vary by event. Many entries include a Beer City race t-shirt, a tasting glass, and The Key to Beer City finishers medal. Several running events offer unlimited tasting at the finish served in a 7-ounce tasting cup. The 5K entry notes an option to purchase a discounted ticket to the Festival for additional access that day.
Event-specific notes: the Beer Stroll is untimed and starts and ends with beer. The Beat the Beast Beer Mile requires participants to drink four 12-ounce beers (no shotgunning) and run a quarter mile between drinks; competitors who fail the rules are removed from the race. The Beermazing Race asks teams to visit partner taprooms and gather clues; a cape is included. A Designated Driver role is available as a sober strategy partner.
