About the race
Beccles Triathlon Festival is a multi-sport event based on the sprint triathlon distance, held at Beccles Lido. The event raises funds for the Lido charity. The Lido is a seven-lane, 30 m open-air pool and the swim snakes across the pool totalling 420 m. The venue sits beside the River Waveney and is overlooked by the town church clock tower that features on event materials.
The road cycle stage is a loop to nearby Bungay and back, covering about 20.3 km with flat terrain on the outward leg and rolling hills on the return. The main run course goes around the north side of Beccles, passes Beccles Quay, follows the banks of the River Waveney past the local sailing club and crosses the Beccles Marshes to a turnaround point for an out-and-back course totalling 6.7 km. A shorter 2.6 km run is available for junior aquathletes. Transition areas use tarmac and include ramps and steps. Event facilities and services include accessible changing and showers, toilets, aid stations, catering, chip timing, numbered racking, parking, finishers medals, prizes, results online and event T-shirts.
