Event details
The Drop - Norwich takes place on 11 January 2026 at Harriets's Cafe Tearooms, 38 London Street, Norwich NR2 1LD. The event offers two entry distances:
- 10 miles
- 15 miles
Entry prices listed are £45.50 for the 10-mile option and £52.50 for the 15-mile option. Entries are open to people aged 18 and over on 12/05/2024.
Race format and rules
Participants register and hand over all electronic devices and navigational aids. Each entrant receives a race number and an emergency bag. Competitors are transported by bus to an undisclosed drop-off location while blindfolded or using an alternative blackout safety goggle if needed. From the drop-off point, participants must make their own way back to the event centre; distances are measured as the crow flies and the actual route may be longer.
Rules include no GPS use (devices must remain sealed in the provided emergency bag), no unauthorised maps (only organiser-provided maps may be used), no shortcuts, and breaking the emergency bag seal results in disqualification.
Tracking and safety
Live GPS tracking is offered as an optional feature separate from the entry fee and requires a password to share progress. Organisers state tracker accuracy to within 5 metres but note signal can be affected by tall buildings and black spots. Trackers should be placed in an outside pocket for best reception and must be returned to staff after the event or a £175 replacement fee will apply.
