Beat The Ferry 50k

Beat The Ferry is a 50 km trail running race that starts on Studland Beach and follows the Purbeck Way. The event is scheduled for 11 July 2026 and uses Knoll Beach Cafe, Studland, Swanage, BH19 3AQ as the listed location.

The route passes a series of coastal and inland landmarks including Knoll Beach, Sandbanks Chain Ferry, Studland Beach, Old Harry Rocks, Purbeck Way, Corfe Castle and sections of the South West Coast Path.

One runner is chosen to be "the Ferry." This runner starts at the back of the field and moves steadily through the pack; other competitors try to finish ahead of them. Finishers who beat the Ferry receive a special reward.

Practical details given by the organiser include an entry price of GBP 65 and on-site National Trust parking at the start location.
