Beat the Ferry

Beat the Ferry is a coastal trail running event on the Purbeck peninsula in Studland, Dorset, held on 10 July 2027. The event offers two distances that use an out and back route along established trails and the South West Coast Path.

The race starts from the beach area at Knoll Beach Café and uses Knoll House Hotel as Race HQ and the finish location. Race HQ provides bib and chip collection, and finish facilities include cold water, tea, coffee and cake. Knoll Beach is close by and a swim is mentioned as an option after the race.

The route threads together coastal and inland features: National Trust dunes and wide sand at Studland, chalk cliffs and the white stacks at Old Harry Rocks, views across harbours, Purbeck hills and the ruined keep at Corfe Castle. The longer route continues to Grange Hill before returning to Studland. Elevation gain for each distance is provided.
