Course overview
Beast of the East Fork is an adventure race held in East Fork State Park east of Cincinnati. The primary course is designed to be a typical 5K and will use existing trails to limit impact on the park and natural habitat. The official distance will be confirmed closer to the event, but participants can expect approximately 3.1 miles.
The course features more than 15 natural and man made obstacles drawn from prior years. Obstacles include Tire Climb, Mud Crawl, Tube Crawl, Tight Rope, Spider Web, Wall Climb, Balance Beam, Hi/Low sections, Sandbag Carry, Tire Flip, Tire Run, Hill Climb, Cargo Nets, Broken Bridge and a Beach Run to the finish.
Obstacle details describe a variety of movements and terrain. The Tire Climb is suspended between trees. Mud and tube crawls require low movement through wet and confined spaces. The Tight Rope uses a second rope for hand balance while crossing. Wall Climb and Cargo Nets require climbs with minimal foot holds. Sandbag Carry asks for a heavy carry over uneven ground. The Hill Climb may include rope assistance and the Beach Run finishes with about seventy yards of sand roughly six inches deep. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
