Beast Of Burden - Winter
The Winter Beast of Burden is a cold-weather ultramarathon held from Wide Water's Marina in Lockport, New York. The event offers multiple distances and starts at a marina with restrooms, showers and warming shelters.

Runners leave the marina onto a paved trail and run approximately 1 mile before crossing one of Lockport's historic draw bridges. The route continues on the towpath to a middle aid station with a place to warm and refuel, then proceeds about 6 more miles to a turnaround point.
Aid stations at the event provide hot and cold drinks and standard ultra foods, including hot cocoa, coffee, Coke, Mountain Dew, water, Heed, grilled cheese sandwiches, warm chicken noodle soup, pizza, pancakes and donuts. Organizers describe additional warming and shelter options at the marina for participants before they continue on the course.
Previous editions experienced heavy winter weather, with accounts of over two feet of snow at the first event and over a foot at another. A Double Beast Buckle is awarded to 100 mile participants who complete both the Winter BoB 100 and the Summer BoB 100 within the same calendar year.
