Bayou Hills Run 10K Championships
The Bayou Hills Run is recognized as one of the oldest running events in Pensacola. Organized in partnership with the City of Pensacola, the event serves as the Official 5K and 10K City of Pensacola Championships. The race supports the Escambia County Public Schools Foundation and Pensacola Sports.
The event features several distance options:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- Kids Race
The start and finish lines are located at Bayview Park, situated at 2001 E. Lloyd Street. The 10-km course includes two water stations, with runners passing the first station twice. The 5-km participants utilize one water station. The event is timed using an electronic system with disposable chips attached to the bibs. For the determination of age group prizes, results are based on net time, while overall winners are determined by gun time.
Participants can pick up race packets on the day before the event at a local sports shop or on the morning of the race at Bayview Park. Baby strollers and jogging strollers are permitted on the course, provided they start at the back of the corral.
All finishers receive a medal. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in multiple age categories for both the 5 km and 10 km distances. A post-race gathering at Bayview Park features views of Bayou Texar, food, and music. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
