The Bay One Beer Mile - RELAY is an untimed, team relay event on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Ice House Brewery and Marina in Colonial Beach, Virginia. The event is limited to twelve 5-person teams (60 total participants). All participants must be 21 years of age or older. Registration for the listed event is priced at $30 and closes on February 27, 2026. Each team must register with a designated team captain who creates the team during registration. Awards will be given to the top three teams and a prize will be awarded for best team spirit.

Course, format and rules

The relay uses a 0.1-mile loop around the brewery property. Each participant must consume a 10 fl oz beer, then complete a full lap, repeating the sequence so each team completes a total of 10 laps (one mile). Each team member completes two 0.1-mile laps in the same running order. Teams are given a themed baton that must be passed between runners; a runner must receive the baton before drinking. All beer must be consumed in the designated drinking area and participants must tip the cup over their head to show it is empty. Beer cups may not be tampered with. Appropriate running or walking shoes are mandatory; sandals, heels, and unstable footwear are not allowed. There is one package pickup on the event day at the venue; new participants receive an unfilled logo growler and photo ID is required at pickup.
