2026 Alamo Beer Challenge: Battle of Hillotes
The Battle of Hillotes is the third event in the four-part Alamo Beer Challenge series. Located in Helotes, Texas, on the outskirts of northwestern San Antonio, the event utilizes the hilly terrain of the Texas Hill Country. The start and finish lines are situated at Old Town Helotes.
Participants can select from several distance options:
- Half Marathon (USATF certified)
- 10k (Certified)
- 5k
- 5k Walk Only
- 0.05k Fun Run
The courses are designed to include significant inclines, providing a setting for runners to test their gear and stamina. The half marathon route is USATF certified. For those unable to attend in person, virtual options are available for the 13.1 mile, 10k, and 5k distances.
The event includes an post-race gathering featuring food and refreshments provided by sponsors. Awards are presented to the first through fourth place finishers in various age categories, ranging from 14 and under to 90 and older. Overall male, female, and masters winners are also recognized. All participants receive a unisex tri-blend race shirt. The event supports non-profit organizations, including Marrow Match, the San Antonio Amputee Foundation, and San Antonio Young Marines.
