Batavia United Way Bat Race 5K & 10K
Batavia United Way holds the 13th annual Bat Race on October 24, 2026, at River and State Street in downtown Batavia. The event is chip timed and follows the Fox River Bike Path. It has drawn participants from 30 surrounding zip codes for 10 years.

The program includes options for both runners and walkers. Race awards are given to the top three finishers male and female in the 5K and 10K. All participants receive a finishing medal. Packet pick up information will be available in September.
A costume contest is part of the event; costumes are encouraged but not required. Prizes will be awarded in categories such as Best Group Costume, Best Duo Costume, Best Adult Male Costume, Best Adult Female Costume, and Best Child Costume. Participants may register at the information booth on race day to be eligible for prizes.
Proceeds and support help Batavia United Way provide assistance to over 20 local agencies and fund in-house programs such as Success-by-6 preschool scholarships, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and the Adopt-A-Family holiday program.
