Barryton Lilac Festival 5K
The Barryton Lilac Festival 5K is a community run and walk held in Barryton, Michigan as part of the town's Lilac Festival. The event takes place near 195 Rose Ave and is described as a flat out and back course that starts at the Farmers Market and follows Renwick to Marion, crosses the river to Coolidge, continues on 20th Ave south to 19 Mile, then returns to the start and finish.
Every finisher receives a lilac seedling as a finisher award. Awards are given to the overall male and female finishers and to the top two in each age group. Early registration includes a t shirt when entry is completed by May 23; registration fees increase after that date. Packet pick up is available on race day morning.
The Lilac Festival spans the weekend, beginning on the Friday before the race with events through Sunday. Saturday events include a parade, a car show, vendor and craft booths, and other family friendly activities. Proceeds from the 5K support the Lilac Festival.
