Wheatlake Wellness Walk and 5K in Big Rapids
The Wheatlake Wellness Walk and 5K is organized by Corewell Health Foundation West Michigan and takes place on May 16, 2026, at the Big Rapids Bandshell behind Big Rapids Middle School, 500 N Warren Ave., Big Rapids, MI 49307. The event offers both in person and virtual participation.
Distances and formats:
- 3.1 Miles timed 5K run
- 3.1 Miles walk with a stroller and wheelchair accessible route
- 3.1 Miles virtual run or walk completed at a participant chosen location
Registration opens December 1, 2025. In person registration closes May 16, 2026, and virtual registration closes May 15, 2026. Entry fees are listed as $35.00 for the 5K run, $30.00 for the walk, and $25.00 for the virtual option. Registration includes a 2026 race shirt. Participants who register by April 15 are guaranteed a shirt; later registrants may receive shirts during packet pick up while supplies last.
The in person 5K is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results are posted live online after the event and a QR code will be available near the finish line. Awards for top finishers are distributed as medals that can be picked up immediately after the race. Children may participate when accompanied by a registered adult.
