Barn Burner
The Barn Burner is a summer running event held in Tyler, Texas, at Rose Rudman Park. Participants can choose from several distances depending on their preference and experience level. The event is organized by Run Different and supports the Tyler Fire Department through a portion of the profits and donations.
Distances available include:
- Half-Marathon (Four-lap course)
- 10K (Two-lap course)
- 5K
- 1 Mile (Untimed event)
- Kid's Dash (100-200 meter sprint)
Participants in the 5K, 10K, Half-Marathon, and 1 Mile receive an event-themed t-shirt and a custom finisher medal. Those in the timed events (5K, 10K, and Half-Marathon) are eligible for age group awards, which are presented to the top four finishers in categories ranging from 0-4 to 80+. Overall awards are also provided for Male, Female, Masters (40+), and Grand Masters (60+).
For those unable to attend in person, a virtual race option is available where materials are shipped directly to the participant. The event also offers opportunities for volunteers to earn free future race entries. Awards are distributed on-site at the conclusion of the races.
