Bark & Bolt (Hendersonville, North Carolina)
Bark & Bolt is a dog-friendly running event held at Patton Park in Hendersonville. The event includes multiple race formats and a companion dog fair located in the field near the start and finish area.
Distances offered:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile
- Paw Pursuit 100 Meter Dash for well-behaved dogs
The 5K is an out-and-back route that follows the Oklawaha Greenway. The course is mostly flat with some moderate hills and is on paved surfaces. The 1-mile route also uses the Greenway and includes one hill near the finish. Both courses have a single water station along the route. The 5K is professionally chip-timed using a timing chip on the race bib and timing mats on the course. Awards are given to top finishers and the event offers a custom finisher medal that spins.
The Paw Pursuit dash divides dogs into three weight classes: Lightweight, Middleweight, and Heavyweight. The event offers a free race shirt if registration occurs before the deadline and has discounted pricing for the 5K for children 12 and under. A virtual race option is available; virtual participants receive mailed shirts and finisher items when offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
