Ballymena Belles Ladies 5 Mile Race
The Ballymena Belles Ladies 5 Mile Race is a female-only running event located in Galgorm village, situated on the outskirts of Ballymena. This event features a specific course distance of 5 miles and is open to participants aged 16 or older.
The race route begins in Galgorm Industrial Park. The first four miles consist of public roads, taking runners through Galgorm village and out along the main Galgorm Road toward Ahoghill. This section includes a gradual incline and passes along quieter country roads. The final mile of the course follows a tarmac path around the Wright Bus site. The race concludes on the football pitches at Galgorm Community Centre.
Individual prizes are awarded to the top three finishers, with additional awards for various age categories, the junior section, and a team shield. The team prize is determined by the cumulative position of four registered club members. For safety reasons, the use of earphones, dogs, or prams is not permitted on the course.
Event amenities include post-race refreshments served at Galgorm Community Centre. Parking is available at Creative Gardens and at the Ballymena Business Centre on Fenaghy Road. Registration and pack collection take place at the Galgorm Community Centre on the day of the event, with an early collection option available on the preceding Saturday at Ballymena Bowling Club.
