About the Event
The Baden Running Races are a long-standing spring tradition in Wilmot Township, Ontario. Held at the Wilmot Recreation Complex in Baden, the event features a combination of road and trail running. The course is noted for being very flat, specifically utilizing a 2.5 km loop that consists of 1.75 km on trails through Schmidt Woods and 0.75 km on paved roads.
Participants can choose from several distinct race formats:
- 5 km Run/Walk: A timed event covering two loops of the course.
- 2.5 km Run/Walk: The Neil Dunford Memorial, a timed single-loop race.
- 7.5 km Baden Back-2-Back: An individual challenge where participants complete the 5 km race first, followed by the 2.5 km race 60 minutes later.
- 200 m Kids Fun Run: An untimed event designed for children.
A water station is available at the finish line. Strollers are permitted for the 2.5 km distance only, and passengers must be registered. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Interfaith Counselling Centre. Finisher medals are provided for the Back-2-Back challenge and the kids' race, while t-shirts may be available for an additional cost. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
