The Runway 2026
The event takes place at Region of Waterloo International Airport in Breslau, ON on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Participants run and walk on the airport taxiway and tarmac on a marked course with a single running direction.
Distances offered:
- 2 miles
- 5 miles
- Kids' 200 m (untimed fun run)
- Future Runner (stroller occupant, free registration, must be accompanied)
The 2 mile follows a defined loop. The 5 mile starts halfway through that loop and then completes two additional full loops. All running is counterclockwise. A water station is located at the finish line; 5 mile runners pass it twice. At the finish area the right lane is for finishers and the left lane is for continuing for another loop.
All participants at The Runway receive a finisher medal (2026 design forthcoming). Event shirts are available for purchase during registration while supplies last. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. Registration fees change by date and refunds are not available; deferrals and transfers are handled according to the registration waiver.
Fundraising supports Mission Aviation Fellowship; the event shows CA$2,027.36 raised toward a CA$12,000 goal, and the participant list counts 222 entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
