Back Roads Bound Half Marathon
The Back Roads Bound Half Marathon takes place in White Lake, Michigan. All race distances start and finish at Hawley Park, located behind the White Lake Township Police Department. Participants travel out from the park, down Porter Road, and onto the surrounding roads.
The routes feature a mix of paved and dirt surfaces. Because the course is open to local traffic, the White Lake Police Department and volunteers monitor the roads to assist with safety. The available event distances include:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- 1/2 mile kids run fun (untimed)
The courses for the timed races are designed as out-and-back routes, with turn-around points marked for each specific distance. Water stations are positioned at multiple locations along the course for all participants.
Parking is available across the street from the park in the Kohl's parking lot. Results for the timed events are provided at an awards table following the race. There are awards for the top male and female finishers in the Half Marathon, 5K, and 10K, as well as age group awards for various categories ranging from children to seniors over 70.
