AZ SUNRISE SERIES - Riparian Preserve
AZ Sunrise Series presents a final leg at Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch in Gilbert on August 8, 2026. The event offers an in-person 5K that is limited to 700 participants and a Virtual Run option restricted to US addresses. Virtual participants receive event items by mail after the event date.
The 5K course is a mix of gravel and concrete paths around the park. Chip timing is used with real time results and event photos available after the race. Extra water stations are provided along the course. Race organizers provide pre- and post-race food items such as granola bars, fruit, water, and sports drink.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups, with categories ranging from 8 and under through 80 and over. The event is part of the Arizona Sunrise Series, a seven-event series where participants earn points for completed races; top point earners and series completers are entered into a prize drawing that includes gift cards and other awards.
Race day packet pickup is available at Riparian Preserve and there is an earlier packet pickup at Road Runner Sports in Tempe. The event permits wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons; roller blades, skateboards, and motorized devices are not allowed. Walkers and leashed pets are welcome.
