Event Overview
The AZ Sunrise Series - Riparian Preserve is a 5K running event. It is the final leg of the 13th Annual Arizona Sunrise Series. The event takes place at the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch in Gilbert, Arizona.
Race Details
The course is a mix of gravel and concrete paths around the park. Participants are limited to 700. The event is leashed pet-friendly and welcomes walkers, wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons. Roller blades, skates, skateboards, and motorized devices are not allowed.
Race Day Schedule
Registration and packet pickup open on-site at 5:45 AM. Participants have two starting options: an open start line from 5:45 AM to 6:20 AM, where they can begin at any time, or a traditional mass start at 6:30 AM. Awards begin at approximately 7:15 AM.
Registration and Fees
Standard in-person registration for the 5K follows a tiered pricing structure, starting at $35 plus a processing fee. Race day registration is available for $50. A virtual run option is also offered, restricted to US addresses. Participants can register by mail until August 3, 2026.
Participant Perks
All participants receive a custom series medal and an attachment for this specific event. They can also choose one item of custom event swag from a set of arm sleeves, a Dri-Fit racerback tank top, a sleeveless shirt, or a short-sleeve shirt. The event includes extra water stations, chip timing with real-time results, and a pre- and post-race "Runner's Brunch" with snacks and drinks. Age group awards are given to the top three in each division.
Series Information
The event is part of the Arizona Sunrise Series, which consists of seven total events. Participants in the series earn points for each event completed, with extra points awarded for age group and overall finishes. Top point earners and those completing at least four series events are entered into a prize drawing, which includes $500 gift cards.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup is available on Friday, August 7, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Road Runner Sports in Tempe, or on race day at the venue starting at 5:45 AM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
