Desert Night Race 1
Desert Night Race 1 is a running event in Phoenix, Arizona, held at AZ Falls (5802 E. Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85018). It is the first of a three-race Desert Night Race Series with monthly Friday evening races on August 21, September 18, and October 16, 2026. Participants are encouraged to bring headlamps and party lights.
The event is a 5K road race. All races in the series will be chip timed and include age-group awards and raffle prizes. Organizers created three different desert-themed medals, one for each 5K in the series. Races are limited to 250 spots and registrations for this event are recorded at 40. Registration closes Friday, August 21, 2026 at 10:00 AM (GMT-7).
There are options for series and individual entries. Early series registration is priced at $89 until August 3 and includes a free tech shirt for series registrants. Individual race entries are $35 each with a $5 price increase two weeks before each race; a tech shirt is available for optional purchase with an individual entry. A virtual race option is available so participants can run on their own day and submit a time; virtual entries remain open until the end of the series or until each race sells out. Race packets usually ship during race week.
The series raises funds for Child Crisis Arizona, whose mission is to provide children and youth in Arizona a safe environment free from abuse and neglect by creating strong and successful families. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
