Autism Awareness 2 Mile Color Run
This event is a family-friendly, inclusive color run and walk held on May 30 at James Hite Park, 2545 Bower Rd, Kearneysville, WV. The activity is not officially timed and is open to participants of all ages and abilities; participants may walk, jog, or run at their own pace.
The event course distance is 2 Miles. Participants are organized into two options to accommodate different needs. The sensory-friendly option provides a calm environment with no color or water sprayed, while the color-run option includes color and water thrown along the course and a higher-energy atmosphere. Both options are self-paced.
A white t-shirt is required and dressing up is encouraged. Folding chairs are suggested for spectators and limited water will be available for purchase; bringing a reusable water bottle is recommended.
The registration fee is $25 per person and covers event costs, medals, and park space. Medals are provided, though later registrations may not be guaranteed a medal. Additional donations collected during the event will be directed to an autism research foundation. The event is presented as part of the community service initiative "Me + You = Autism: Bullying Breakthrough." Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
