ATW Stevenage Winter Half Marathon & 10k
Active Training World stages a half marathon and a 10k that start and finish at Ridlins Athletics Track in Shephall, Stevenage. The routes use traffic free tarmac roads around the town and include laps of Fairlands Valley Park.
The half marathon completes 21.1 km by taking a longer second lap of Fairlands Valley Park. The 10k route includes a smaller lap of the same park. The event operates a 3 hour 30 cut off time for the half marathon.
On race day there is an event village with live music, a professional commentator, pre race massage, pacers at a range of target times, and catering including a coffee van and bar. Participants receive a custom designed medal and free event photos; finish line snacks and other goodies are available. The course is described as well marked with supportive marshals.
A free 400 m Children’s Fun Run takes place on the running track before the main races; no advance booking is required and parents may run with their children. Parking at the race venue is restricted to disabled users and officials, with additional parking at Fairlands Valley Park and in Stevenage town centre.
