ATW Box End Triathlon
The ATW Box End Triathlon takes place at Box End Park in Bedford. The event utilizes Box End Lake, known for its water quality, and features a scenic multi-lap course design. This layout provides frequent opportunities for spectators to view the race. The competition is held under non-draft legal rules to ensure a fair environment for all participants.
Participants can choose from several multisport formats and distances:
- Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 26km bike, and 5km run.
- Standard Triathlon: 1500m swim, 40km bike, and 10km run.
- Centurion Triathlon: 2250m swim, 80km bike, and 20km run.
- Aquabike: Available in Sprint and Standard distances, featuring only the swim and bike legs.
- Relay: Options for teams of two to three participants to complete the distances together.
The event is open to various abilities and includes specific age requirements for different distances. In accordance with inclusivity guidelines, the race offers a Female category for those assigned female at birth and an Open category for all other athletes. Practical amenities at the venue include on-site parking at Box End Lakes and the option for overnight camping at the park.
