ATW Box End Mixed Team Relay
ATW Box End Mixed Team Relay is a team relay triathlon at Box End Lakes in Bedford organised by Active Training World. Teams of four complete a short triathlon leg each and hand over to the next athlete at the transition area.
There are three team categories: an Olympic mixed team format of four (two female and two open), a female team category (four females) and an open team category (any mix of four). Single person entries are available and those entrants will be assigned to teams on the day. Team captains make the initial team entry; remaining team members can be added later and must provide date of birth and Home Nation membership details.
The course starts with a deep water swim in the wakeboarding lake, continues with a non-drafting bike leg largely on public roads, and finishes the lap with a flat out-and-back run beside the lake. The minimum athlete age is 16 because the bike leg uses public roads.
Distances for each leg:
- 350 m swim lap in the wakeboarding lake
- 7.7 km non-drafting bike around the venue on public roads
- 1 km out-and-back flat run beside the lake
Camping, food and a bar are available on site. Wetsuit hire options are noted for season or short term hire. The event lists Alzheimer's Research UK as a partner charity and includes opportunities to donate or fundraise. ATW permits transfers to another ATW event up to 48 hours before the event; refunds and transfers to another person are not offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
