About the race
The ATW Box End Mixed Team Relay is a team triathlon relay held at Box End Lakes in Bedford. Teams of four complete sequential short triathlons, with each athlete swimming, cycling and running before handing over to the next team member who begins by running into the water.
There are three team categories: the Olympic mixed team format of four (two female plus two open), a female team category (four females) and an open team category (any mix of four). Team entry is made by a team captain; the captain provides teammate details at booking and remaining team members submit required details on the day. Single person entry tickets are available and entrants without a team will be assigned to a team on event day.
Course details include a deep water start and a single 350 m swim lap in the wakeboarding lake, a 7.7 km non drafting bike circuit around the venue on public roads, and a 1 km out and back flat run beside the lake in view of the transition area. Because the bike leg uses public roads, the minimum competing age is 16 on race day.
On site facilities include food, a bar and camping. Wetsuit hire options are available. The event supports fundraising for Alzheimer's Research UK. ATW offers entry transfers to future events up to 48 hours before the original event date but does not offer refunds or name transfers.
