The 60th Wolverton 5 (Willen)

The Wolverton 5 is a five-mile road race held in Willen Lake, Milton Keynes, on 28 November 2026 and organised by Marshal Milton Keynes Athletics Club. The course runs around the north and south lakes and uses traffic-free redways.

The route is described as fast and flat and normally consists of two laps around Willen Lake. Race registration and number collection are at the Willen Lake splash parks; the Start and Finish area is on the Events Field between the splash park and the water sports café. The event is held under England Athletics rules and uses chip timing. A commemorative T-shirt is provided to all entries.

Entry information as listed includes fees of £15 and £18 for unattached runners, with on-the-day entries of £20 possibly available. Registration is scheduled to close on 26 November 2026. Prizes are awarded and mailed after the race; listed awards include the first three men and women and veteran categories. Additional prizes of £100 are offered for the first man to break 23 minutes and the first woman to break 26:20.

The race was first held in 1965 and has been run each year since, traditionally on the last Saturday in November. The event moved to Willen Lake in 1991 and the course was modified in 1995; notable five-mile times recorded at the event include 26:21 (1992) and 23:01 (1993), with best times on the modified course of 23.35 (1999) and 26.36 (1996).
