Atlanta FatAss : January 4, 2026

The Atlanta FatAss is an annual, low-key trail event held since 1994 at Sweetwater Creek State Park in Lithia Springs, Georgia. The event is free and open only to 2026 GUTS members. The race features post-race food and a crockpot chili contest; participants provide chili in crockpots, and ballots are used to vote for a winning entry. Hot food will be available at the finish.

Course and logistics

The course consists of six loops on the white trails, run counter-clockwise with descents on Jack's and climbs up the stairs. The trail is all singletrack with some hills and technical sections that include roots, rocks, and boulders. Poles are allowed. The route will be marked with bright tape and flags. The start and finish are at the Group Shelter. Packet pickup takes place at the Group Shelter on race morning. Parking is in the Group Shelter lot or adjacent areas; a state park parking fee is collected on arrival or an annual park pass may be used.
