The Atlanta Fat Ass 50K is an annual GUTS event held at Sweetwater State Park on January 10, 2027. The event is free but open only to 2027 GUTS members; membership information is provided by the organizer.

The course consists of six loops on the WHITE trails run counter clockwise, descending Jack's and ascending the stairs on the return. The trail includes technical sections with roots, rocks, and boulders. Poles are allowed, though most participants do not use them. The route will be marked with bright tape and flags. The start and finish are located at the Group Shelter.
A crockpot chili contest is part of the post race activity. Runners are asked to bring chili in crockpots because there are limited burners. The organizing group provides bowls, utensils, and some toppings. Each runner receives a ballot to vote for a favorite chili, and the chili brought by participants serves as the post race food.
Parking is available at the Group Shelter lot or adjacent areas. There is a $10 state park parking fee in effect as of 1/1/26; annual Georgia State Park passes may be used instead. The fee is collected after arrival into the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
