Assist Pregnancy Center's Walk Run Ride for Life
Assist Pregnancy Center's Walk Run Ride for Life takes place on Saturday, May 9 at Occoquan Regional Park, with gathering at the pavilion located at 9751 Ox Rd, Lorton, VA. The event combines in-person walking and running activities with a virtual cycling option.
The on-site activities include:
- 1 Mile Family Stroll starting and ending at the pavilion on an out-and-back course
- 5K Run starting and ending at the pavilion on an out-and-back course
- Distance Cycle offered as a virtual event; participants pick their own course and complete it by May 9
Registration is free. Each registered participant who raises $50 will receive a t-shirt. Teams may be formed or joined during registration to fundraise with others. The event has a fundraising goal of $75,000 to support free medical services, mentoring, and parenting education for families facing an unexpected pregnancy in the DC region.
Virtual cyclists are encouraged to attend the in-person gathering for food, activities, prizes, and ministry stories. Occoquan Regional Park offers additional amenities such as fishing, a batting cage, boat and kayak rentals, hiking trails, and a cafe with a variety of menu items.
