A8K Classic and 2K Run
The 27th A8K Classic and its companion 2K run take place on 11/26/2026 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, centered at Glen Ridge High School, 200 Ridgewood Avenue. The event benefits the Glen Ridge Educational Foundation.
Distances:
- 8K: USATF certified relatively flat road course with two water stops.
- 2K: One-mile USATF certified out-and-back on Ridgewood Avenue.
Registration opens 8/17/2026. Registration for the 8K closes 9/3/2026 with a fee of $36.00. Registration for the 2K closes 11/14/2026 with a fee of $30.00. USATF New Jersey members receive a $3 discount up until five days before the event; the discount is applied during registration.
Course notes state the 8K runs through historic Glen Ridge and includes two water stops. The one-mile course is described as an out-and-run back on Ridgewood Avenue and is USATF certified.
All 8K awards will be grab and go. Weather permitting the awards table will be in the high school parking lot; otherwise the awards will be in the gym.
The 8K honors a local Olympic steeplechase champion who won at the 1952 Olympic Games. The 2K honors a local runner who won the New York City Marathon in 1973 and 1975. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
