Event overview
The ASDAsh 5K to Beat Tooth Decay is presented by the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and is scheduled for April 11, 2026 in Aurora, Colorado. The event is the sixth annual running of this 5K and has a revamped course that starts and ends at the Library Commons on the University of Colorado campus. The race includes a designated Strava segment called the "Meatball Mile" at mile 2, with a prize for the participant who earns the KOM title.
Course, logistics and fundraising
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Veterans Assistance Grant, which supports dental care for veterans through the CU Dental Team Care Clinics. Registration opens March 9, 2026; the listed fee for the 5K is $30, which includes a $2.64 processing fee. Each registration includes raffle tickets, a t-shirt, and a goody bag; registering by September 27 guarantees a t-shirt. Bib pick-up is available before the race and participants should bring a photo ID for check-in.
A post-race party will be held at Milieu Fermentation and will feature food trucks and a custom beverage. Awards will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers, and raffle prizes will be distributed at the after-party. Parking is recommended at the Julesburg Visitor Lot (Victor St and E 17th Pl). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
