Art City Tri
Art City Tri is a multi-discipline event held at Wayne Bartholomew Family Park in Springville, Utah. The program includes an open-water sprint triathlon, a team sprint option, and a separate 5K walk/run, all staged around the park reservoir and nearby river bottoms.
Distances
- 5K walk/run (5 kilometers)
- Sprint triathlon: ~450 yard swim, 20k bike, 5k run
- Team sprint triathlon: team of 2-3 sharing the triathlon legs
The swim begins from the beach and proceeds about 450 yards counter-clockwise around three buoys. Wetsuits are encouraged and lifejackets are permitted. Lifeguards on kayaks, paddle boards, and canoes provide water safety. Swimmers exit at the start beach and enter the transition area.
The bike course is a roughly 20 kilometer out-and-back that climbs the left fork of Hobble Creek Canyon for about 6.2 miles each way. Helmets are required. No aid stations are on the bike course; water for bottles is available in transition. Police will provide traffic support at key turns.
The run is a 5 kilometer loop through river-bottom trails and nearby neighborhoods with aid stations approximately every mile. Chip timing is used with ankle-mounted chips and finish-line printouts and text results. All participants receive a swag bag with a race shirt, bib, and finisher medal. Age-group and overall awards are listed for both the triathlon and 5K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
