Art City Tri

Art City Tri takes place at Wayne Bartholomew Family Park in Springville, UT. The event includes a sprint triathlon, a team sprint relay, and a separate 5K walk/run at the same venue.

The sprint triathlon consists of a roughly 450 yard open-water swim around three buoys starting from the beach, a 20k bike leg that follows an out-and-back route up the left fork of Hobble Creek Canyon, and a 5k run in the river bottoms that finishes by circling the park pond on a dirt road. Wetsuits are encouraged for the swim and lifejackets are permitted. Lifeguards on kayaks, paddle boards, and canoes will be on the water. Helmets are required for the bike leg. Water for bottles is available at transition; there are no aid stations on the bike course.

The team sprint is for teams of two to three people with each person completing one or more legs. The 5K walk/run follows the same final run area and includes aid stations at every mile. Timing chips are worn on the ankle and results are provided at the finish. Participants receive a swag bag with a shirt, bib, and finisher medal. Awards are given for overall and age-group categories and for top teams. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
