The Timp Trail Marathon and Half, Orem UT
The event takes place May 15, 2027 in Orem, Utah, with the course starting and finishing at Timpanogos Park. Two distances are offered:
- Marathon (26.63 miles)
- 1/2 Marathon
The marathon course has 5,883 feet of elevation gain and is composed of 99.9% mountain trail and fire break roads. Runners may encounter snow, rain, mud, stream crossings, and rocky sections. Only a few asphalt crossings occur at lower elevations. Course navigation relies on pink and blue flagging; pink indicates the route and combined pink and blue flags mark turns. GPX course maps and a course description are provided for navigation.
Marathon aid stations are positioned at multiple locations including Cliff Edge, Dry Canyon Trailhead, Battle Creek Trailhead, and Grove Creek Trailhead. A drop bag is available at Battle Creek Trailhead and clothing or gear left there will be returned to the starting area after the last runner clears that aid station. Cutoff times apply at key aid stations: Grove Creek (must depart by 10:00 AM), Battle Creek (must depart by 12:20 PM), and Dry Canyon (must depart by 1:00 PM). The event does not provide porta johns, mile markers, spectators, or volunteers guiding turns, and the organizers note the course should be treated like an ultra distance race.
Registration closes Friday, May 14 at 11:59 PM Mountain Time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
