The Timp Trail Marathon and Half
The event takes place Saturday, May 15, 2027, in Orem, UT, near U.S. 189 (1.25 miles east of Provo Canyon). Two distances are offered.
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
Both courses start and finish at Timpanogos Park and follow the same marked route. The marathon covers 26.63 miles and includes 5,883 feet of elevation gain. The terrain is almost entirely mountain trail and fire break roads, with only a few short asphalt crossings at lower elevations. Runners may face snow, rain, mud, stream crossings, and rocky sections. Some ascents and descents are technical and scenic.
The marathon course includes multiple aid stations at the following approximate miles: start, 5.34, 7.7, 10.25, 11.39, 18.15, 20.61, 25.29, and finish. Drop bags are available at the Battle Creek and Dry Canyon trailhead aid stations; clothing and gear left at the drop area will be returned to the starting area after the last runner clears the aid station. Cutoff requirements apply at Grove Creek (mile 11.39), Battle Creek (mile 18.15), and Dry Canyon (mile 20.61). Course markings use pink flagging to indicate the route and pink plus blue flagging to indicate turns. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
