Around Cape Ann Half Marathon
The Around Cape Ann Half Marathon takes place on October 18, 2026, in Gloucester, MA. The event has been held since 1933. The course wraps around Cape Ann's coastline and goes through the seaside villages of Gloucester and Rockport, offering coastal views of beaches, harbors and coves. The race is a USATF sanctioned half marathon of 13.1 miles and is open to participants aged 18 and older.
Logistics and race features
The race base is at O'Maley Middle School, 32 Cherry Street, Gloucester, MA. Parking is available at the school and free shuttle buses transport participants about 3 miles to the starting area at Good Harbor Beach. Bag check at the start is self-service. There are six aid stations with water near miles 2, 3.5, 5, 6.5, 9 and 11.5, and a restroom is located near mile 6. RaceJoy and GPS runner tracking are available for live tracking and progress alerts.
Finish-line awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in 5-year age groups; awards must be picked up at the awards tent and will not be mailed. Per event rules, gun times are used for scoring. Participants receive race shirts, a finisher medal, a race bag and finish-line refreshments among other listed items.
