ARC Irene Trail Run/Walk
ARC Irene Trail Run/Walk is a trail and road event at the Irene Athletics Clubhouse inside the Agricultural Research Centre Irene in Centurion, Gauteng. The event offers marked routes, water tables on all routes, a finisher medal, venue entry and parking. The clubhouse provides coffee, drinks and snacks. Pets are not allowed.
Distances and online entry fees:
- 21 km - R170
- 15 km - R150
- 10 km - R130
- 5 km - R110
- 3 km (half trail, half road) - R80
An on-the-day entry fee incurs an additional R30 for standard entries. Children under 13 and adults over 60 pay R80 and are not charged the on-the-day surcharge. Some pensioner entries are restricted by distance; age-specific classes are listed for certain distances.
Route notes: the road option uses roads within the ARC Irene grounds only and does not go onto public roads. Trail routes are full distance with no loops. Walking and hiking are permitted on several shorter routes. Water tables will be available along all routes.
There is an option to forgo the physical medal and donate the medal cost to the Make a Difference Campaign; donated funds are intended for an animal shelter. No race pack collection is required the day before; race numbers are issued on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
