ARC Irene Road Run/Walk
ARC Irene Road Run/Walk is a road event held at the Irene Athletics Club inside the Agricultural Research Centre Irene in Centurion, Gauteng. The event is open to non club members and does not require an athletics license. Race numbers are issued on race morning at registration; there is no need to collect race packs the day before.
Distances and standard online entry fees are:
- 3 km, R80
- 5 km, R110
- 10 km, R130
- 15 km, R150
- 21 km, R170
On the day entries incur an additional R30 for most categories. Competitors under 13 years and adults over 60 years pay R80 for certain distances and are not charged the on the day surcharge for those categories.
The route stays within the ARC Irene grounds and does not use public roads. Water tables are available on all routes. Walking and hiking are permitted on the shorter routes including the 3 km, 5 km, 10 km and 15 km options. Pets are not allowed.
Amenities at the clubhouse include coffee, drinks and snacks. Entry includes a marked route, water tables, a finisher medal, venue entry and parking, and Vitality points where applicable.
A medal donation option is available: participants may place their medal in the campaign box to donate its cost, with funds raised to support an animal shelter at year end. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
