Arc GLOW Friends & Family 5K and Fun Walk
Arc GLOW’s Friends & Family event on September 19, 2026 is a community 5K and fun walk held at the Elba Day Habilitation Center, 4603 Barrville Road, Elba. The event invites people of all ages and abilities to participate in a noncompetitive setting.
The event explicitly welcomes participation by the people Arc GLOW serves and aligns with the organization’s mission to support people with disabilities in partnership with families and the local community. A feature called Taste of Country showcases fruits and vegetables donated by area farmers; runners, walkers, sponsors and volunteers may take some produce home.
The event began as a memorial in 2004 and later combined with other local memorial 5Ks. Sponsor levels include Bluebonnet, Blue Spruce and Blue Knight, each linked to those earlier memorial connections. Funds raised support a memorial scholarship for area high school seniors planning studies in human services, special education or related fields, and also help fund Arc GLOW programs and services.
