Mr Ed's Superbowl Warm-up : Middleport, NY
Mr Ed's Superbowl Warm-up is an annual community event held at the Middleport Fire Hall in Middleport, NY 14105. The programme includes multiple running and walking options:
- 5 km canalside race on a certified course
- Fireman's 5 km relay
- 5 km walk, untimed
- 1 mile fun run
The certified 5 km course starts at the corner of Mill Street and N. Hartland Street. The route proceeds west on Mill Street, turns onto Carmen Road, follows Townline Road, climbs Peet Street, then runs along the canal under the Carmen Street bridge before returning to the finish near 6 Mill Street. Dogs and strollers are not permitted in the 5 km race.
Awards are given across several categories including overall, masters, grand masters (60+), firefighter awards, and 5-year age groups from 14 and under up to 80 and over. A prize is also noted for the fastest Canadian. The fun run and walk receive ribbons and are untimed.
A collector's long sleeved T-shirt is guaranteed to the first 300 registered participants; size XXXL carries a $3 surcharge. Packet pickup and in-person registration take place at the Middleport Fire Company on race day. Proceeds benefit the Middleport Volunteer Fire Company scholarship fund, which has donated over $125,500 since 1990. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
