The Apple Festival 5K is the 50th annual edition of this event, which is presented by the Ellijay Lions Club and starts the Georgia Apple Festival. It is described as one of the longest-running 5K events in the state of Georgia.

Registration and Details
The regular registration price is $30, with an increase after September 12, 2026. Registration and packet pickup on the day of the event costs $40 per person. A race shirt is guaranteed for registrations received by October 2, 2026.
Course and Timing
The 5K course is a double loop through the downtown area and along Old Highway 5 and McCutchen Street. The race is timed by BT Race Timing but is not chip-timed. Participants receive a finish card to fill out and turn in for results posting. Awards are given for overall, masters, grand masters, and numerous age groups.
Additional Information
Free parking is available around Ellijay Elementary School. Refreshments are provided after the race. Participants should be aware that roads may be blocked after the event as the Apple Festival begins. The event takes place rain or shine, with potential delays for severe weather.
