The Apple Festival 5K takes place on October 10, 2026 in Ellijay, Georgia, at 32 McCutchen St. The event is presented by the Ellijay Lions Club and marks the 50th annual race. The race program includes the following events:
- 5K
- Fun Run
- Virtual 5K
Standard registration is listed at $30, with the price increasing after September 12, 2026. Race day registration is $40 per person. Shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by October 2, 2026; registrations after that date and race-day registrants are not guaranteed shirts or sizes. Awards are given for overall male and female, masters and grand masters, and in five-year age groups from 10 and under through 80 and over.
Course, timing and logistics
The course is a double loop through the downtown area and Old Highway 5, finishing on McCutchen Street, with a short walk back to the gym for results. Timing is handled by BT Race Timing; the event will not be chip timed. Finish cards must be completed with name, age, bib number and gender and turned in at the results boards for posting and award eligibility. Complete results will be posted to RunSignUp.com, BTRaceTiming.com, Athlinks.com and RunGeorgia.com after the race.
There is free parking around Ellijay Elementary School. The Georgia Apple Festival will follow the race, and some roads may be blocked. In case of rain the races will go on; severe weather may cause delay or cancellation. No refunds are offered. Virtual runners must submit their time by October 11 and do not receive bibs, shirts, or awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
