MOORE Equity in Mental Health 5K Run, Walk, & Roll

The American Psychiatric Association and the APA Foundation present a 5K run, walk, and roll to support organizations that promote awareness programs and provide services to improve the mental health of young people of color. Funds raised benefit the APA/APAF Moore Equity in Mental Health Community Grants Program and the initiative honors mental health advocate Bebe Moore Campbell.

The event is offered in two formats: an in-person 5K at Wheaton Regional Park in Wheaton, Maryland (2000 Shorefield Rd) and a remote 5K that participants can complete in their home communities or as part of a local team event. The in-person event is planned to proceed in most weather conditions unless conditions are unsafe.

Awards are given to the first, second, and third place finishers in the Men’s Division, Women’s Division, and Nonbinary Division; random drawing winners are announced after the awards. Registration and packet pickup are available on event day. Registration options listed include in-person 5K run, 5K walk, 5K roll, and a remote 5K; these entries are shown with no fee.

Parking for the in-person event is organized with a main lot at the Wheaton Regional Park Carousel Parking Lot and overflow at Pine Lake Parking. Fundraising incentives include a T-shirt and medal for participants who raise a specified amount before the stated deadline, with additional incentives available through a later date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
