Event Details

The 6th Annual APA & APAF MOORE Equity in Mental Health 5K Run, Walk, & Roll is organized by the American Psychiatric Association and the APA Foundation. The event supports organizations that provide awareness programs and services to improve the mental health of young people of color. Funds raised benefit the APA/APAF MOORE Equity in Mental Health Community Grants Program.

Distances

Participants can choose from several options:

  • 5K Run (in-person and remote)
  • 1 Mile Fun Walk (in-person and remote)
  • 1 Mile Fun Roll (in-person and remote)

Location and Format

The primary in-person event takes place at Freedom Plaza on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC. A remote participation option allows individuals to complete their chosen distance in their home community on the event day. The in-person event is scheduled for a Saturday in July 2026 and is held rain or shine, unless conditions are unsafe.

Awards

At the in-person event, awards are presented to the first, second, and third-place finishers in the Men's, Women's, and Nonbinary divisions. Random prize drawings are also held. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
