Anthem Sprint Triathlon
The Anthem Sprint Triathlon is a reverse order sprint triathlon held at the Anthem Community Center in Anthem, Arizona. The adult course begins with a 5 km run, continues with a 20 km bike over three loops, and finishes with a 400 m pool swim. A separate kids distance follows shorter run, bike, and swim segments.
- Adult triathlon and relay: Run 3.1 miles, Bike 20 km, Swim 400 m
- Kids triathlon: Run 1/2 mile, Bike 4.5 miles, Swim 200 m
The adult run is an out and back route on the sidewalk. The bike course uses three loops with a designated lane separating bike traffic from vehicles; helmets are required on the bike route. The pool swim uses a lane rotation system with one way swim traffic; participants enter feet first and do two cycles to complete the distance. Timing is managed with RFID chips worn around the ankle that must be returned after the event.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to age group winners, with age groups ranging from youth through 80 plus. Additional category awards include Clydesdales, Athenas, and relay teams. Racer amenities include a long sleeve hoodie, post race refreshments, and finisher medals. Parking is at the Anthem Community Center with overflow available at Anthem Community Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
