Anthem Sprint Triathlon : event overview
The Anthem Sprint Triathlon is a reverse-order sprint triathlon held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Anthem Community Center, 41130 N Freedom Way, Anthem, AZ. The event includes adult, kids and relay categories and is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. Participants must hold a USAT annual membership or buy a one-day membership. Racer amenities include a long-sleeve hoodie, post-race refreshments, finisher medals for all participants and awards for top finishers.
Courses, distances and logistics
- Adult triathlon: Run 3.1 miles, Bike 20 km, Swim 400 m (pool)
- Kids triathlon: Run 1/2 mile, Bike 4.5 miles, Swim 200 m (pool)
- Relay: teams of 2 or 3 athletes
The adult run is a 5 km out-and-back on the sidewalk. The bike course is 20 km run as three loops on local roads with a designated lane separating bike traffic from vehicles; helmets are required. The pool swim uses lane rotation with one-way swim traffic and is completed in cycles. Timing is with RFID ankle chips that must be returned after the race. Awards include overall top three male and female, age-group top three in multiple age bands, and top three in categories such as Clydesdales, Athenas and relay teams. Parking is at the Anthem Community Center with overflow at Anthem Community Park. Parents or guardians may accompany children on the kid’s course if they wear helmets.
