Newark Turkey Trot 10k / 5k : 54th Annual (November 21, 2026)
The Newark Turkey Trot is scheduled for November 21, 2026 at Norma B. Handloff Park in Newark, Delaware. The event includes two chip timed road races and benefits the James F. Hall Scholarship Fund, which provides tuition assistance to youth for Newark Parks and Recreation programs.
The course is USATF certified, follows rolling hills through residential areas, and the 10 km route consists of two loops. Vendors will be on site and the event includes post race refreshments and a raffle. The first 500 registered participants receive shirts. Bibs are non transferable and dogs are not allowed due to insurance liability.
Awards are given for overall top three male and female finishers in each distance. The 10 km field has age group awards in five year increments across adult age ranges. The 5 km has overall awards and a broader set of male and female age group categories extending to older age brackets. Timing is managed with MYLAPS BibTag chip timing and results are posted online during and after the event.
Shirt and bib pickup takes place at the Newark Municipal Building for pre registered participants and at Handloff Park on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
