Cecil & Harford Celebratory 5K - Girls on the Run Central Maryland
This event is the season-ending celebratory 5K for Girls on the Run Central Maryland’s Cecil and Harford programs. The 5K takes place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 100 Marion Tapp Pkwy, Perryville, MD. The course distance is 5K (3.1 miles).
The closing event is designed to give program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. Registered GOTR and H&S participants receive a commemorative medal. A 5K participant shirt is provided to registrants who sign up by April 27, 2026. Program participants and coaches are already registered for the 5K and do not need to register again. Community members and additional family or friends may join but must register as community participants or 5K buddies; those registration types are listed at a price of $40 each.
Packet pick-up is available the day before the event at Amanda Gallagher Orthodontics in Abingdon, where coaches can pick up team bags of materials. The event includes noncompetitive activities such as sign making, a photo booth, water stops, happy hair stations and merchandise for sale. Volunteers support many roles including set-up, registration, course marshals, running buddies, water stations and cheer stations; volunteers appointed through the council undergo a background check.
Safety measures include race bibs for all participants, assignment of running buddies, course monitoring with head counts, and a council safety plan to guide staff and volunteers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
